Description

Shy at first but very loyal, this beautiful Spaniel Chihuahua needs a new place and therefore a new owner. Best home is with a woman without children as he gets startled. That’s who he has been with these past 5-years as a super great companion. Phineas “Phin” is a blonde male, neutered, 10.3 lbs Date of Birth is 2/23/15. He is Microchipped and has 2 3/4 years left on his current license. His medical history is: Vaccinations Rabies Expires 02/09/2023 Bordatella Expires 03/11/2022 Distemper-Parvo Expires 03/10/2024 Prior Surgery Dental Prophylaxis 03/25/2021 Surgical Procedure Femoral Head Ostectomy - FHO (Right) on 3/16/16 Current Medication Zonisamide 25mg (Epilepsy 2 x / day) Nexguard (Flea Control 1 x / mth) Interceptor Plus (Heartworm control 1 x / mth) Accessories Crate Hard sided crate with sleeping pads (multiple) Collar/Leash Collar, leash, harness, rain jacket Poop Bags Multiple rolls provided He is highly treat motivated so Treats come with him. Lean Treats, Canine 4 oz Dog Food 1 large bag Natural Balance – Small Breed Dry Dog Food Walks/Potty Breaks Walk Frequency • 20 minutes before breakfast (he usually poops at this time) • 20 minutes at lunch time (he usually poops at this time) • 20 minutes late afternoon Or outdoor fenced yard. When on a leash, he prefers to walk behind you, usually I keep him on the right side of me. Keep firm grip on leash at all times. He pulls when triggered (see below). His preferences: Recommend not leaving him for more than 6 hours without a potty break during the day Sleeping. Bed • Enjoys a blanket on ottoman in living room (daytime) • Loves a blanket on master bed in master bedroom (daytime or evening) Crate • Used during transportation in car • Used when leaving house(optional) – max 6 hours Additional Pet Notes History • He is a rescue from California • Adopted him from Oregon Humane Society at 1 year of age. • Came from an abused and neglected home Physical attributes His back right leg is not attached at the hip joint and is held on by muscle and scar tissue. He may not walk on it at times or have a slight limp, especially if it is cold outside or he has been lying down for long periods of time. This is totally normal and should not be a concern. Helpful Tips • Approach him slowly • He is treat-motivated, so if you need him to do something, try a treat (mentioned above) • Do not let others pet him, even if he seems to be calm Behavioral Triggers He gets scared and startles easily, so avoid the following: • Dog parks • Loud noises • Men, especially if wearing a hat • Motorcycles • Children • Garbage trucks / UPS / FedEx • Birds, crows and squirrels
