What is wrong with people and their mutt dogs and these outrageous "rehoming fee

Why is everyone wanting 100 dollars or more for these mutt dogs that will most likely and unfortunately end up in the shelter or worse? What happened to the good ol days when these mutt dogs were free in the Wal-Mart parking lot? Just throwing this out there. Also get your damn dogs spayed or neutered and quit making all these mutt dogs.
