Description: Eastward Ho! is a private, nationally ranked 18-hole Herbert Fowler design located on the coastline of Cape Cod in Chatham, Massachusetts. Built in 1922 the course encompasses 130 acres situated directly on a pristine 1.5 mile stretch of Atlantic Ocean shorefront. The classic Fowler design boasts unique architecture that follows the topography of glacial moraines and is considered one of the finest links style golf courses in the World. The successful candidate may look forward to being deeply involved in a number of career development highlights during the next one to four years, including: course preparation for a US Open qualifying event (May 2021), ongoing in-house restoration and improvement projects under the guidance of an internationally renowned architect, installation of a new state of the art irrigation system (2022-23). The seasonal greenskeeper works closely alongside all staff members in all aspects of turf equipment maintenance. This position requires a professional, driven individual who operates with the highest expectations and efficiency. Strong time management skills are required as it relates to completing necessary tasks in a timely manner before play. Individual understands the requirements and demands of turf maintenance equipment at a high-level private facility. Responsibilities: Greens section Work Fix ball marks, tee & fairway divots. Hand rake bunkers & cart-paths, Blow debris & dispose of clippings. Mow greens, fairways, primary rough. Walk mow tees & collars, as well as walk mow rough around greens & bunkers. Triplex mow approaches and runoffs. Rotary mow green and tee surrounds. Spot water fairways/rough. Pump water from the golf course. Native work. Perform other duties as needed. Requirements: Must be motivated by demanding work environment. Must possess a strong work ethic and attitude. Weekends, holidays, and evening work. Valid Driver's License Reliable and predictable attendance is required. Working knowledge and ability to use hand and power tools/equipment. Must be able to frequently sit, stand, bend, use hands to handle or feel, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and walk. Ability to lift 50lbs, and to lift overhead and push or pull lighter objects. Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
