LANDSCAPE WORKING FOREMAN Ka’iulani of Princeville (KOP) is a high-end condominium development on the North Shore of Kauai. In 2007, the first homeowners moved in and have enjoyed the community over the years. The landscape has always been well manicured. We are now seeking a full-time landscape foreman to oversee the current landscaping and make recommendations which will take us into the future. Job Description: The Landscape Foreman's responsibilities include overseeing and playing a major role in the service and continuing maintenance of KOP landscape project and other outdoor spaces designated by the Property Manager or KOP Board of Directors from time to time. The Foreman must be physically capable to work all aspects of the landscape service and maintenance Ability to work along with and coordinate workers in groundskeeping activities, monitor and train workers, supervise the use and maintenance of equipment, ensure staff observe safety guidelines and protocols, learn, and execute proper landscaping techniques and utilize equipment, power tools, small machinery, and hand tools to carry out full-service installations and proper handling of all materials, and complete various administrative duties assigned. The foreman must also be able to communicate effectively, have good people skills to work with his crew, his supervisors, and homeowners. Execute strong attention to detail and personal integrity including working with a team or independently and have a strong work ethic attitude. Foremen must have strong organizational and time-management skills; the ability to follow directions; and good record-keeping skills to manage materials and expenses. Mechanical skills are necessary to make simple repairs to equipment, irrigation systems, and landscape fountains. Duties: • Oversee and implement landscaping projects • Conduct final inspection upon project completion • Usage of all essential landscaping machinery and equipment • Keep machinery and tools in good repair and working order • Ensures all work is completed in adherence to safety policies and guidelines • Provides input in analyzing and forecasting future needs of the property • Participate in actual field production work with landscape staff • Observe organization of work and take necessary actions to ensure highest quality • Develop and recommend improved work methods and standards • Must proficiently communicate with management and coworkers Requirements: • Motivated individual with 2+ years landscape installation foreman experience or 4+ years’ experience as landscape installer • Strong candidates will be able to work well following instructions from Management and communicating with team members • Candidate should have good knowledge of Hawaiian/Tropical plants, shrubs, trees, perennials, and landscape material that grow well in our environment • Working knowledge of landscaping equipment and experience with fertilizers and pesticides • Good communication skills • Willing to work in a team environment • Have at least 2 or 3 good previous employment or character references • Good attendance record and be on time for work • Candidate will be subjected to pre-placement drug testing • Must be able to complete tasks expressed in the job description and be willing to participate in other activities as deemed necessary by Association Management Compensation: • Competitive pay based on experience & offering • Health, Vision, and Dental insurance (after 90 days of employment) • Paid time off (40 hours after one year) • 11 paid holidays in calendar year
