The Apprentice Guide position provides the opportunity to learn outdoor leadership with NY’s largest outdoor adventure company, in our 10th year of business. Our adventures explore NY's wilderness and include hiking, canoeing, backpacking and more. We will soon resume providing transportation to/from the Catskills and Adirondacks from NYC, which we suspended in March of 2020 Apprentice Guides will acquire and develop skills using a personalized development plan customized to their outdoor leadership goals. Duties may include - *Assist the Lead guides while on adventure - *Learn and assist in operations - trip planning, menu plan/prep, client communication, etc.) *Learn to drive a 15 person van to and from the adventures Outdoor skills are not a pre-requisite; but as we are a customer focused business, the ability to provide a great experience is. We value customer service/hospitality backgrounds, being responsible, dependable, high-energy, and easy to work with. Becoming a NY State Licensed Outdoor Guide is not a requirement of the Apprenticeship, but for the right candidates, we offer scholarships for the test and certifications.
