Complete tasks assigned in a manner instructed by Project Supervisor or Landscape Foreman. Maintain quality standards for various projects. Executes small scale to large-scale Landscaping, both hardscape and softscape operations. Participate with other Softscape Technicians in preparing and grading terrain, applying fertilizers, seeding and sodding lawns, transplanting shrubs and plants, using manual and power-operated equipment; makes sure equipment is used safely and properly. Plant new and repair established lawns using seed or sod. Locate and plant shrubs, trees, and flowers according to a landscape plan. Prune shrubs, mulch shrub beds and cultivate gardens. Also, participate with other Hardscape Technicians in installing small to large-scale retaining walls using pre-cast retaining wall blocks, cinder blocks, or stone. Installs and/or builds ponds, fountains, arbors, or pergolas. Install custom fire pits or fireplaces out of stone, cinder block, or pre-cast concrete materials. May dig trenches and install drains. And, in the Lawncare division, mowing and trimming, mulching, commercial and residential accounts. Perform other duties as assigned. Must obtain some creativity skills. Ensure company grounds are maintained a professional appearance. Must have the ability to effectively communicate with customers. Physical Requirements & Working Conditions: Must be able to stand and work for a full work day. Must be able to walk, bend, crouch, stoop, dig, rake, push a fertilizer spreader. Must possess strength, stamina and mobility to perform heavy physical work outdoors in all weather conditions and with exposure to potentially unsafe conditions, use various hand and power tools, drive a motor vehicle and/or heavy construction equipment; lift and move materials and equipment weighing up to 80 pounds and heavier weights with the use of proper equipment; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; and hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone and/or radio. Must work overtime as required.
