Live Race! Run through the .5 or 1 mile Treasure Run, or run the 5k or 10k route along the beautiful Big Walnut Creek trial! Gahanna Running Rams 5k or Treasure Run 2021 presented by Ohio ENT & Allergy Physicians - Live Race!We are super excited to invite you to attend this fun race! 1st Annual Gahanna Running Rams 5k or 10k race. Or do the super fun .5 or 1 mile Treasure Run. Come all pirates and swashbucklers on this exciting run. Following all Health Department & State of Ohio Protocols. Live races are back! Wave Formats(All races will be done in waves of 30-35 with awards by certain waves!) Race Option #1: 5k or 10k - Trophies & Medals! Have fun running with family, friends and fellow runners!! You can be grouped together with people you know. Run the beautiful Big Walnut Creek Trail. Also, 1st in each wave gets a neat trophy, 2nd - 5th receive a medal for each wave! Race Option #2: Run + Treasure Hunt! (.5 or 1 mile option) - this super fun version involves doing the race and running to 2 treasure zones during the race! At each treasure zone you'll get prizes, candy, and all kinds of neat items (work like a candy & prize hunt!). Pirates (runners) will have fun as they search and find all kinds of treasures, but don't find my gold! Super fun!!BONUS: First 5 to register for each race receives a $20 Dave & Busters Power Card!All race entries receive t-shirt (if ordered by deadline) + Pirate Hat at the Finish Line + entry to the Gahanna Festival!! Race Details:When: Friday, May 14th, 2021Wave Start Times: 5PM - 6PM (Waves start about every 5 minutes)Race Details: Run or walk the .5 or 1 mile Treasure Run / or the 5k & 10k course the Big Walnut Creek trail. Huge Opportunity to be in this super fun spring run. All pirates welcome! Race Limit: This year we can only accept 300 runners (over our 10 waves)! Hurry, this race will fill up!Wave Starts: Racers will be placed into groups of 30-35 and staged at 5 minute wave start times (see below if you want your own private wave start).Wave Setup Wave start time will be assigned after registration. You can be grouped together with family and friends, just make sure you all use the same "Team Name" when registering. We'll group everyone into the same wave with the same Team Name. Are you a pirate or want to be a pirate? Sign up for the Race Option #2 and you will get a fun Candy Hunt during the race! The Candy Hunt / prizes are the "Treasures" you get to find during the run. There will be 2 different "Treasure Zones" during the run for all pirates to find. Get paired with other families by selecting the same Team Name. This will be fun! No awards for Treasure Run. Race Wave times: First wave starts at 5PM for 5k or 10k. First wave for the Treasure Run will not be until 5:30PM. (you will receive a color coded race bib that will help to identify your race wave).Want your own wave start? Create a Team Name. Share it with others, and enter it into the "Team Name" field when registering. Must have 25 runners and up to 35 max. You will have your own race wave and we'll still give awards to the top 5!How to get grouped together: There is a field called "Team Name". Have everyone in your group use the same Team Name and we will group you together. Maximum grouping is 35.Staging Area: 10 minutes prior to your race, your wave start will be announced. At that time you will be requested to report to the staging area. Masks and social distancing are required in the staging area. Masks Requirement: Masks are required in staging area, but can be removed during the race (please bring with you during the race). Masks need to be warn after the race until you leave the event (except when eating the pancake breakfast). Packet Pickup - TBDWe may have packet pick-up the day before the event. Masks are required during the entire time except when running / walking the course. Also, you can not leave the road during the course to go to the bathroom (there will be one in the parking lot). There are wires and other items that you can easily trip over that will take down the entire light display, so please do not leave the course during the run/walk. Thank you :)! Spectator InformationSpectators are allowed, just social distance and wear a mask. Thanks! Inclement Weather PolicyThe Gahanna Run will start as scheduled at 5PM - 6PM regardless of rain, snow or cold temperatures. If there is visible lightning in the area, the race will be delayed for a minimum of 15 minutes. The race would only be further delayed, postponed or cancelled if extreme conditions jeopardize the safety of participants.
