The American Mural Project (AMP) invites you to join us for our Open Mill tours to see the current mural installation progress. Once completed, likely in the next 18 months, the three-dimensional mural will be 120 feet long and five stories high—the largest indoor collaborative artwork in the world. The limited Open Mill tours provide a first-hand sneak peek into the installation process before it is complete.
Open Mill visits include an overview of Founder and Artistic Director Ellen Griesedieck’s inspiration for the mural, as well as AMP’s current and future plans for the mural, education programs, and expansion. Learn about the mural’s tribute to American workers, the people depicted in the mural, and why they were chosen. Hear their stories, ask questions, and return for more visits as the mural installation continues in the coming months.
AMP is not currently open to the public. Opportunities to view the completed sections of the mural are limited to Open Mill events, donor events, and education programs, so please register early to ensure your spot is reserved for these previews. Limited registrations are available and reservations are required.
Minimum suggested donation of $10/person is encouraged. As a nonprofit organization readying to open to the public, AMP relies on donations to fund all events and programs.
All health protocols regarding Covid-19 will be followed. All attendees are required to wear a mask while inside the building and maintain at least six feet of distance from other parties attending the tour.
AMP merchandise, including one-of-a-kind hand-painted t-shirts and hoodies, will be available for purchase.
Thanks for your support, and we look forward to seeing you!
