Millsite Landscape Services is looking for a full-time year-round flower bed landscape maintenance foreman to work in the 270-acre Old Mill District. Job Duties/Skills: • Have a desire to maintain the seasonal color and landscape beds of the accounts we manage in a condition we can be proud of. • Experience and education sufficient to provide knowledge of ornamentals, trees, seasonal color, perennials, and bulbs to staff and clients. • Perform the correct maintenance activities (pruning, weed control, etc.) associated with the bed crew. • Safe and efficient landscape equipment operation. • Provide field training and supervision of seasonal employees with the tools and techniques to succeed. • Effective communication, flexibility and delegation with all employees/departments for work flows to run smoothly, to provide a quality product that positively represents our company and to retain adequate staff. • Contribute to the bed crew daily meetings and work plan. Facilitate these activities when the bed crew supervisor is away or on vacation. • Identify maintenance needs and enhancement recommendations for the accounts we maintain. • Promote a culture of safety across all crews. • Carry out seasonal color designs and installations in beds and containers. • Carry out other landscape enhancement projects as needed including special cleanups, tree work, plant and mulch installations. • Obtain an herbicide applicator license to perform and/or oversee applications in beds following IMP guidelines as well as shrub/flower fertilization. • Desire to pursue continuing education in the green industry. • Perform minor irrigation repairs and program irrigation clocks depending upon the season, plant material type and location. Assist with irrigation turn-ons as needed. • Winter work includes renewal pruning, account detail and participating in winter de-icing and snow removal for contracted buildings and areas.
