Description
Traditional Tantra Yoga : 2hr Asana Alignment & Meditation Explore an ancient yogic practice, led through the lens of traditional Tantra Yoga, as taught at Shri Kali Ashram. Derived directly from the Indian life science of Ayurveda (Artharva Veda, 1200 BC). The aim of the practice is to balance our internal system (hormones/ prana/chi) through a methodical combination of asanas (postures), pranayama (breathwork) and Vedic philosophy - leading to achieved relaxation on and off your mat. Together we will journey to cultivate meditation, flexibility, strength, body awareness, patience, compassion, creativity, and vital energy flow, among many other byproducts of yoga. Every practice begins with a gentle warmup specifically designed to calibrate our bodies and rest down in alignment. The Tri Dosha Series are the core asanas of Traditional Tantra Yoga and the primary element of this style. This portion of the class takes place entirely laying on the ground at a slow pace, encouraging deep meditation and relaxation, similar to yin or restorative yoga. Each asana builds upon the last, stimulating prana/chi/vital life energy for overall euphoric and relaxing body sensation. Physically and mentally challenging yet perfect for all levels. Final shavasana concludes each practice, offering the space to reset and honor ourselves. As we relax the nervous system, our subconscious mind takes precedence allowing for our return to the zero state, or simply put our essential selves. Through continued practice, we become reset by Tantric metaphysics and open up to achieving a wholesome life culture by dropping what we don't need. This yoga is a space for total freedom and expression of self, as we develop a culture of mastery and flow rather than stress and struggle. Join me for this special 2hr workshop that your body will instantly thank you for! Taylor, Your Teacher: “I’m Taylor. A lifelong student of traditional yoga and Eastern mysticism, lover of all things natural and on a mission to bring you back to wholeness. I was fortunate enough to be introduced to yoga in my adolescence. Over the last 10+ years, I've resorted to the practice as a coping mechanism to manage stress and to restore self-love and centeredness regardless of external circumstances. Along my journey, which included a three-month stay at Shri Kali Ashram in Thailand for my 500hr YTT, I have continued to return to my Dharma, which in Sanskrit refers to the real self. I am a yogi, doula and educator seeking to provide space in which people of all walks of life feel honored, supported and loved. I look forward to practicing with you :)
