Needed immediately. 1-2 Construction Laborers with experience in rough framing carpentry, farm maintenance, and operating gas/diesel powered tools and construction equipment. We are a moderately sized farm that specializes in sustainable agriculture, agro/eco education, and agritainment. We run cattle, poultry, sheep, pork, horse, hydroponic, orchard, greenhouse, field crop, flower, summer camp, educational, retail, and hospitality operations on two properties that are around 200 acres total. Those acres are a diverse mixture of old and new buildings, rolling pastures, woods, springs, and streams. We are a growing and busy enterprise and we have great employees that serve an even greater customer base. We are looking to add to our team. We are in immediate need of experienced construction laborers. We are looking for full and/or part time positions. We need people with a minimum of a year of experience in carpentry. We do a lot of rough and exterior construction, such as decks and pavilions, so it is essential that you can read and use a tape measure, safely and accurately use saws, can drive screws and nails competently, and have a great work ethic. The construction section is a small team so we cannot tolerate slackers. We need confident self starters who know that knowing what they DON'T know and asking for clarification are two signs of maturity and initiative, which are values we seek out in our hires. Common sense, the ability think outside the box, the ability to put the mission and safety first, even if things are not going well, and the competence to be left alone with a list of tasks are all traits that we are looking for. Basic personal tools, proper attire, and work ethic are requirements. The ability to show up on time, sober, and ready to work are required. Be experienced in carpentry. That is not negotiable. Experience running heavy equipment and gas powered tools is highly desirable. Willingness to assist with farm labor, as needed, is necessary. Respect for the livestock, customers, and fellow staff is mandatory. Due to the children with summer camps, inappropriate behaviors and backgrounds are strictly prohibited. NO SUBSTANCE USE OR ABUSE. Driver's license is encouraged. Be able to consistently lift heavy objects and work in all weather. There are no opportunities to live on the property, at this time. The manager has decades of experience in the trades and agriculture. He knows what the market is like for good laborers and skilled workers. He can spot the scammers and slackers but he will look out for his crew. The pay rates will be competitive but will depend on experience and demonstrated abilities and work ethics.
