The Office of Continuing Education Presents Tune-Up Clinics-Adults and Teens <IMG S Driver's Education Tune-Up Clinics for AClass: Thursday, Friday, Saturday Times: 10am - 4pm Classroom: D2016 $99.00 - 2 hours $149.00 - 4 hours Please note that before a driver can participate in the Tune-Up Clinics, the driver must have a valid learn's permit. Sessions 2: Focuses on parking. During this session, students will be introduced to the correct procedures for angle, perpendicular, and parallel parking using reference points and instructional driving. FACILITATED BY: CATHY BAILEY COURSE OBJECTIVE Sessions 1: Focuses on driving on crowded roadways. During this session, we will examine the importance of scanning ahead, distractions, lane positioning, and multiple lane roadways. • Decision Making Decision making is the most important skill used in driving. We will focus on controlling space to the front and speed to enhance visibility, space, time, and traction. Emergency vehicles assisting drivers on the side of the road. New drivers will receive coaching on covering the brake in preparedness to stop or slow suddenly and identify an alternative path of travel. • Distractions Distractions while driving can be deadly, especially for young drivers. Typical driving distractions include texting, dialing or talking on the phone; passengers or pets; using any electronic device; changing the radio; eating, drinking, smoking or reading a road map; searching for an item in a purse, glove compartment, backpack, etc.; engaging in intense or emotional conversations; putting on makeup; driving an unfamiliar vehicle without first adjusting the mirrors and seat, selecting entertainment options, or locating the lights, windshield wipers or other vehicle controls. • Lane Position Students will learn proper vehicle positioning to provide the greatest amount of space between their vehicle and a potential hazard. • Multiple Lane Roadways We will focus on lane position, lane changing, following distance, and mirror blind spots. Sessions 2: Focuses on parking. During this session, students will be introduced to the correct procedures for angle, perpendicular, and parallel parking using reference points and instructional driving. IMPORTANT NOTICE! Please arrive at least 30 MINUTES PRIOR to your scheduled class! You must bring VALID state-issued identification! Please print a copy of your confirmation/receipt and bring it with you! *NOTE: Refunds are only issued due to campus closure (ie. inclement weather/emergency) or insufficient enrollment. Each course is carefully monitored to ensure sufficient enrollment. Students will be notified at least 48 hours prior to the start of the class should cancellation be necessary.
