Small local business in Santa Cruz is interviewing for a new full time Warehouse Associate. The job includes working with heavy equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks to move freight from trucks. Must be comfortable working with computers. Applicant must be able to lift and carry heavy objects. The warehouse worker completes paperwork, ensures tasks are completed safely and on time, and must make decisions regarding the transfer of incoming and outgoing inventory. We are looking for an applicant who is alert, hard-working, detail-oriented, and able to follow instructions. Candidate must also be able to work independently. Specific duties include: • Safely transporting materials to the shipping bay when checking things in to the warehouse • Loading merchandise onto trucks • Keeping an inventory of all merchandise entering or exiting the warehouse • Identifying any missing, lost or damaged materials • Managing all merchandise with appropriate care • Driving a forklift to load/unload • Using a computer inventory control system (Lightspeed) to keep an accurate inventory Prior experience working in a warehouse, with a forklift, and with Lightspeed would be a plus but not strictly necessary. We would be happy to train the right person. Pay starts at $18 per hour – increases to $20 after 60 days plus employer subsidized health benefits. Job hours are 8 to 4, Monday through Friday.
