After seeing the footage of the Daunte Wright killing, I truly think it was an accident. I think this officer made a horrific mistake. If you consider how many times police need to pull their gun or their taser across this nation on any given day, its a miracle that this type of thing does not happen more often. The reason why this Daunte Wright case is headline news is because the cop was white and the victim was black. Had Daunte been a white man, this would not be headline news. There are plenty of racial injustices in this nation between white officers and black victims, but this case is NOT one of them. The Daunte Wright case is just a simple tragedy. We cannot blame the cops every time a tragedy occurs. Police have an extremely difficult job. Cops are expected to act perfectly during every interaction with civilians. Cops are human. We cannot expect perfection. Nothing in this world is perfect. I think it is important to apply our outrage to the appropriate cases and not over react on certain cases. This cop is not guilty of a race related crime in my opinion.
