The Up and Down need fiddle and or mandolin

Meets

Alameda CA

Description

The Up and Down has been together 12 years and play originals and covers of country, rock and roll, Irish and bluegrass. We play acoustic instruments aggressively. This is not a sit on a chair folk band, this is upbeat beer drinking music. Current set up is Mandolin, Banjo, Bass, Drums, Guitar and Fiddle. Our fiddle and mandolin players have moved out of the Bay Area and we want to audition replacements. We are looking for players that can fit in with the band and play their heart out on stage. Lead and rhythm playing required. All gigs except 1-2 charity gigs a year are paid. 2-3 monthly practices in Alameda. 1-2 gigs a month on Friday or Saturday nights in Alameda, Oakland, Walnut Creek, Livermore, Pleasanton and San Francisco. Pay is $60 to $100 per member per show, plus beer and sometimes dinner. No financial requirements, you will only be paid and not asked to pay for anything. We have a full PA and you can use ear monitors if you want with your own mix. Please check out our music to get a sense of the band. We have a LOT of fun. https://www.youtube.com/user/TheUpandDown/videos www.facebook.com/theupanddown https://open.spotify.com/album/3ljqWcRoGwt2yZIi6ipnNv?si=jHObnUDwT7KFwAkZ2NMwWg We are not trying to make it but we do want to have great well attended shows. Our PA is very good so you don't need anything but an instrument with a pick up. We are set up for in ear monitors if you use them and you can get your own personalized mix. We play breweries and bars so alcohol will be present and consumed. We are NOT a mellow band, there is no sitting down on stage. There are some songs with established parts that double up with other instruments but 90% of the time you can play whatever you want. Please contact me if you know your way around your instrument. If you play and instrument not listed but feel you could contribute we are willing to consider it.
