The local Chapter of the American Rhododendron Society is the De Anza Chapter. Unfortunately the web page is not up to date. The De Anza Chapter is one of many Chapters in the American Rhododendron Society. The American Rhododendron Society has a Seed Exchange from which one can purchase rhododendron seed. The De Anza Chapter, which normally meets in Los Altos, is not having an April meeting but invites you to join a Zoom meeting of the Eugene Chapter on Wednesday, April 21 at 7:00 PM, during which Kathy Lintault will give a program titled Camellias: Beautiful and Versatile, during which she will inform us about the camellia’s diverse and lovely flower forms along with the camellia’s past history and cultural requirements. Kathy Lintault, the 1st Vice President of the Oregon Camellia Society, is a retired art librarian who has transferred her love of art into the garden. Kathy and her husband Roger maintain a 3.5 acre garden outside McMinnville, Oregon focusing on rhododendrons, camellias, Japanese maples and xeriscaped perennial beds. Kathy and Roger have visited and photographed gardens throughout North America, Europe, and Asia, finding inspiration and refreshing ideas for their gardening endeavors and ours. Kathy Lintault has registered camellias such as New Moon Rising.
