Description
KALW is now accepting applications for Audio Academy, our unique nine-month radio journalism training program for adults at KALW Public Radio, an NPR and BBC affiliate in San Francisco.
Participants attend weekly seminars and are trained in every aspect of audio storytelling, from recording to interviewing to audio editing. Fellows are an integral part of the production of our award-winning daily news show, Crosscurrents, and gain experience in working newsroom. Participants also receive mentorship from our award-winning staff.
Our alum have gone on to work at shows like Snap Judgement, Reply All, KQED's Rightnowish, The California Report, and public radio stations across the country. We have alumni running their own podcasts; a physician and poet freelancing stories on the side; fellows now attending graduate journalism school and law school.
This is a nine-month unpaid training opportunity that starts in September 2021 and runs through June 2022.
