A beautiful 12-mile round trip hike on the rail trail going and river trail on the return. NEW DATE:. Even if you signed up before please register again. Thank you for your undertanding. It was originally scheduled for early April and it poured that day!! Specifics: Park in High Bridge at the trail head lot. Hiking shoes recommended, and bring yourself a snack/lunch/drink. We'll hike 6 miles to Califon, a cute country town, take a brief picnic break and hike back along the river. There are port-a-johns at the start and midway at picnic grounds. Children welcome with parents if you feel they can handle the distance, or you can always make it shorter by turning around and returning the way you came. Everyone walks at their own pace, so at times the group can spread out and you can eventually catch up on this hike. Registration Required. You can register for more than one person as well. Simply add their names and emails on each registration. FreeWalkers shirts, hats and neck gaiters will be available for sale at the start. Please arrive early if you'd like to purchase something.
