Description
Chaperone Sub-Contractor Position with Wildfire Transition Services, LLC (Tacoma) [Serving the Puget Sound region] **No Experience Required** **Must Be 21 Years Old to Apply** **Flexible schedule** **Must Have Reliable Transportation** **Must Have a Desire to Help Others** **Must Have Proof of Valid Car Insurance** **Must Be Able to Pass a Department of Corrections Background Check** What We Do: Wildfire Transition Services, LLC is a Social Services company providing direct chaperone services to individuals (clients) who are supervised by the Washington State Department of Corrections (DOC). Through collaboration with our sub-contractors, we are able to help clients reintegrate into society. Wildfire will handle the coordination of new client reviews, client onboarding, scheduling for both training and chaperone services, billing, auditing, and all communications with DOC, attorneys, treatment providers and SCC representatives. What You Do: As a sub-contractor you will be accompanying clients, one-on-one, on community outings (grocery store, bank, mental health appointments etc.). These outings are to be completed with your personal vehicle (car insurance is required) and your mileage will be reimbursed* Some trips may be completed on public transportation and if that is the case you will be responsible for bus fare. For those trips you will still be reimbursed for mileage to and from your residence which will offset the bus fare expense. We recommend getting an Orca Card if you do not already have one in order to limit the personal cost to you of each trip. Prior to starting any chaperone trips, you will be required to participate in a paid one, to two, hour training provided by the DOC for each client you chaperone. Wildfire will also train you on the systems and processes we use to document each trip. (This will include details on how to report your observations in the community and invoice Wildfire for payment.) What You Offer: - Desire to help others! We are here to help clients better themselves in order to be productive members of the community. - Patience The background check process can take a 1 to 2 weeks to complete, but once approved things can progress quickly from there. Patience is also required with the clients as they work through their program and become acclimated to being in the community again. - Adaptability This business is ever-changing and ever-growing so being flexible to change is an important attribute for any of our sub-contractors. What We Offer: Compensation- Hourly Rate of $16/hr for first 90 days during onboarding. After the first 90 days the rate can be renegotiated. Mileage reimbursement rate (currently $0.56/mile) This rate changes every year based on the IRS Federal Mileage Rate. Flexible Schedules- Working through Wildfire Transition Services, LLC gives you the opportunity to choose your own availability. This is a great job for someone seeking supplemental income or part-time work to make some extra money, all while doing something that truly makes a difference in the lives of others. Retirees or college students looking for extra income would be a great fit for this! If interested in applying please provide an email with your resume, availability for an interview and any questions you may have to Barbra Murray via this posting. Experience is not required, but please include in your e-mail any employment or personal experience that you feel would apply. I will reach out to schedule a virtual interview or an in-person interview (depending on current COVID-19 restrictions). If you have any questions or concerns, e-mail those as well.
