We are hiring for our roasting team! Our team is dedicated to providing expertly-crafted batches of coffee for our 7 (soon to be 8!) retail locations and growing community of wholesale partners. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about coffee and dedicated to providing expertly-roasted batches. The Production Roaster would report to the Head Roaster and be responsible for roasting coffee to Temple's standards, meet production needs, and fulfill orders on time. Requirements: -Must be available to maintain a schedule of: Sunday through Thursday 5:00am-1:30pm -This is a full-time hourly position with a 35-40 hours per week work schedule -Excellent reliability, transportation, and flexible to work overtime when needed -Passion for all things coffee -Good communication and organizational skills -Basic math skills -Take direction positively and works well under time constraints -Follow instructions and balances priorities with ease -Works well within a small team environment -Able to perform physical requirements of the job Benefits: -$17.00/hour starting -Employee discounts for retail, whole beans, and beverages prepared in our cafes -Health, dental, vision, and life insurance after 3 months of full-time employment (28+ hours per week average) -401(k) with employer match of 5% (eligible after 1 year) -One (1) paid floating holiday plus holiday pay (1.5x) on New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas -Inclusive environment that values diversity and individuality General Responsibilities: -Unloading green coffee shipments -Loading roaster for each batch -Must be comfortable frequently lifting, pushing, and/or pulling heavy objects up to 50lbs as well as lifting/assisting to lift green coffee bags of up to 150lbs -Roasting daily batches on Probat UG15 and Renegade 60KG -Logging data for each roast within Cropster and ColorTrak systems -Cupping for quality control -Operating weight and fill machines -Labeling, packaging, operating heat sealers, product fulfillment, and shipping -Unloading inventory and deliveries -Forklift operation -Working with team members to track inventory -Working with team members to troubleshoot equipment issues -Cleaning and maintenance tasks -Following all safety and COVID protocols Experience: -Experience in the coffee industry is desired -Coffee roasting experience preferred To apply for this position simply email the following items to [email protected] and please use "Production Coffee Roaster" as the subject of the email: • Cover letter • Resume • Three professional references
