Division: Brannan Sand + Gravel Position: Asphalt Plant Ground Man Reports To: Plant Manager FLSA Status: Full Time Location: Denver Area Locations Position Summary: Employee performs various duties within an asphalt plant at the direction of the plant operator to ensure operations run safely and efficiently. Maintains excellent housekeeping around the plant by shoveling spills and excess material. Candidate will perform repairs as needed to plant equipment and maintain preventative maintenance schedule in order to maximize plant performance. Functional Responsibilities: • Shovel work. • Clean up general work area. • Clean and put all tools and equipment back where it belongs at the end of each shift. • Grease’s plant and keeps air oilers full. • Inspects bearings, belts and belt splices. • Identifies and reports air and fuel needs or issues. • Understands and troubleshoots mechanical and electrical controls. • Safety is always # 1 at Brannan – It’s required that you properly wear all PPE, participate in safety programs and trainings to maintain necessary credentials, use proper lock-out/tag-out and confined space entry procedures, be knowledgeable about working around heavy equipment in a mining environment, use proper lifting techniques, and always keep an awareness of your surroundings. • Show up to work every day, and on time every day. • No use of cell phone during the work shift. Qualifications: • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times. • Must be at least 18 years of age. • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. • Must be willing to work nights and weekends if or when necessary. • Report to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start time. • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures!! • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required. Physical Requirements: • Standing - 6 to 8 hours daily. • Walking - 6 to 8 hours daily. • Bending/Stooping - 6 to 8 hours daily. • Repetitive Movement (shoveling/sweeping) – 6 to 8 hours daily. • Lifting (weights up to 100 lbs.) – Occasionally. • Lift and Carry (50/60 lbs. for 20 feet) – Regularly. • Push / Pull – 6 to 8 hours daily.
