Garden Me Up is a small and upcoming garden landscape maintenance business based in Ann Arbor. Our ideal part-time crew member candidates will: • Love gardening • Love gardening in all sorts of variable Michigan weather • Love to work physically hard • Love to do a good job • Love to please home owner and business owner customers • Love to contribute to a positive, high quality gardening experience for home and business customers, co-workers, supervisors and Garden Me Up LLC business owner • Love to work independently and also as a valued team member on a crew • Be ready, willing and able to stand, kneel, squat, walk, crawl, climb, lift & carry 50 lbs or more repetitively, dig in all types of soil, push & drag loaded wheelbarrows and tarps over uneven terrain repetitively • Be ready, willing and able to work with arms extended above head and arms extended in front of body while holding equipment from standing, kneeling and squatting positions repetitively and while walking over uneven terrain • Be reliable and punctual • Be clean (at the start of the day anyway), odor free (no strong perfumes/colognes, any smoke smell, b/o, etc), neat and courteous (all the time) • Be available to work 1 – 5 weekdays (M-F) per week 4 – 8 hours per day between 8am and 6pm as needed up to 30 hours per week • Have a valid driver license and a reliable car or truck that can be used to drive to job sites as needed • Be able to pass a background check and intermittent drug tests • Be able to identify the names, growth habits and growing requirements of a wide variety of zone 5 and zone 6 landscape plants, shrubs and trees by sight, plus annuals too is a bonus • Be able to identify weeds and their growth habits by sight • Have experience doing gardening and landscaping work on a personal and/or professional basis including raking, digging, trimming, pruning, deadheading, weeding, planting and transplanting annuals/perennials/shrubs/small trees, fertilizing, mulching, etc. • Have experience using both unpowered hand tools such as pruners, trimmers, loppers, rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and using gas powered blowers, hedgers, trimmers, chainsaw and other garden maintenance tools • Note: Having knowledge and experience in every aspect of garden landscaping and related tools is ideal but not mandatory, we will be delighted to train the otherwise ideal candidate who has a desire and willingness to learn Please reply by email with information about yourself and why this opportunity might be the perfect fit for you and the perfect fit for us.
