Part-time kennel technician needed at busy dog and cat boarding facility. Must be punctual, honest, dependable and have a great work ethic. We are looking for a team player with a positive attitude who can handle dogs of all sizes and cats without fear. This is a serious position for serious animal lovers only. Although this is a labor intensive position, it is also a rewarding one in that you get a chance to be with animals and grow while learning new things and meet new pet guests every day. Experience as a kennel technician or some type of animal handling qualification is preferred. Duties: • Cleaning /sanitizing dog kennels and cat cages and maintaining kennel buildings. • Feeding/watering dogs and cats, medicating, occasional bathing of dogs. • Washing buckets/bowls, cleaning up poop/pee, scrubbing tile floors/walls. • Rotating and monitoring dogs in outside yards for exercise time, ensuring the safety and happiness of all pet guests. • Must be able to gently control large and very playful dogs. • Work is labor intensive and will include several outdoor duties performed in sometimes inclement weather (extreme heat, cold weather and rain) • Must be available to work all major holidays and weekends. • There is a possibility this position will eventually include front office duties (greeting customers, checking in pets, checking out pets, working with our computer-based boarding software) This is a part-time position -- now until the summer we usually need help mornings: Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday 7-10am. After school is out for the year, this position is usually 6 mornings a week (Tues or Wednesday is a typical morning off) In the Fall, 1 to 2 mornings during the week plus Saturday and Sunday. For the Holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas/New Year's season) it might be up to 7 mornings a week. Do not apply if you cannot work the week of Spring Break, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and the 2 weeks between Christmas and New Year's.
