Our Sophi had a litter of 8 puppies April 5, 2021! Three pups have already been claimed, but we still have 3 girls and 2 boys looking for their forever home! We are asking for $1500 for each puppy and will be available for pick up starting in June. Sophi is our AKC registered Vizsla. Sophi has the darker coloring. She is sufficiently stunning that we have had Vizsla owners stop us in the street to ask about her bloodlines. We’ve never been interested in showing Sophi, but she knows somewhere around 50 verbal and hand-signal commands and she does great with the obstacle course in our back yard. We mainly hunt on our farms in Okla., but have had so few quail in the last several years that we never felt like Sophi’s hunting training was polished. Nonetheless, we have enjoyed hunting with her. Despite all the range of activities we do with Sophi, she is primarily a member of our family. She has a large fan base of neighborhood kids. We have no desire to be long-term dog breeders, but several family members and neighbors are so attached to Sophi that we decided to have a litter of puppies to share. We are offering the remaining for sale; pick of males and pick of females is offered in a first come, first pick design. Animal selection will be made at 6 weeks of age and puppies are to be picked up at 8 weeks. We will interview potential buyers to evaluate if the adopting family is prepared for the high energy and “velcro” needs of the Vizsla; we do reserve the right to refuse a sale. We are looking for forever homes for each puppy. We will not entertain the sale of these puppies to dog brokers. In the event that any adopting family experiences life changing events that prevents them from caring for their puppy, we will work with the owners to make arrangements to identify a new home for that puppy. Although we do not care to be long-term dog breeders, as a scientist and registered cattle breeder, we did want to breed our puppies for Vizsla breed standards and with all the health checks in place. Both parents have been OFA hipped checked as good. Both parents have heavy Rebel Rouser influences in their pedigrees. Other names in “Sophi the Trophy” family tree includes Touchdown Guy and Touchdown Kid. “Rusty’s Rowdy Rebel” includes Renaissance Lord of the Th’Dance and Crimson’s Twenty Gauge Ruger. However, the sire “Rowdy” is primarily used as a hunting dog by his owner.
