Are you confident, patient, and eager to brighten a child's life? We are seeking a sitter/mentor/learning buddy for children with autism, ADHD, and other special needs. 15-20 hours per week- Must be available weekday mornings to early afternoons (e.g. 7:30am - 3pm) Required skills/abilities: Engage, play with children, assist with learning activities, monitor children's safety, provide basic care (e.g. help feed, dress, toileting, clean up after child, etc); Take children on outings for hikes, walks, playground; Use redirection and other strategies to soothe and calm tantrums. Must be comfortable working with up to two children at a time, nonverbal children, and also working with children who may express frustrations with physical tantrums.
