Hawes Group is looking for an Entry-Level Building Maintenance Assistant with knowledge in commercial and residential buildings and grounds maintenance. Hawes Group Facilities team is responsible for the maintenance of multiple commercial and residential properties in Oregon and Washington. This is a full-time position, +40 hours/week. Operating hours is Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. However, the shift days and times will vary depending on business needs. The position will require at least 3-5 overnight travel days per month. We are looking for a person that likes the responsibility to work independently and also be accountable to others in a team environment. A successful candidate should know how to access multiple resources when engaging with unfamiliar tasks or problems. Job Duties and Responsibilities: Labor. Modular furniture installation, furniture moving, pressure washing, roof and solar panels cleaning, residential roof maintenance Janitorial. General commercial/residential cleaning, daily common areas disinfecting, floor maintenance, window cleaning Grounds/Landscape. Tree/shrub pruning, weed-eating, irrigation repairs Plumbing. Basic kitchen and bathroom repairs (sinks, faucets, showers, toilet) Painting. Commercial office turn-over preparation and paint, residential exterior preparation and paint. Carpentry. Some drywall and finishing repairs. Mechanical/Vehicles. Routine company vehicle maintenance, power equipment maintenance Locksmith. Commercial and residential lock and key repairs and installation. Travel. Approximately 3-5 overnight travel days per month. Not necessarily consecutive. Ideal Candidate: • Experience 0-2 years • 1-2 years’ experience in any building/property maintenance trade: janitorial, groundskeeping, plumbing, painting, carpentry, general construction. • Experience with basic hand tools, power tools and other power equipment. • Basic mechanical aptitude towards trouble-shooting and problem solving. • Able to lift up to 50 lbs., safely, with or without assistance • Work at heights up to 60 feet. • Works well with others; displays a positive attitude at work • Valid driver’s license and good record Have you worked or assisted in any of these trade areas such as carpentry, plumbing, painting, landscape maintenance, or general construction, if so, you should consider applying with Hawes Group and gain more hands-on experience, while working alongside a great team with a good learning environment.
