Two People Killed In F.E. Everett Turnpike Crash In Merrimack

MERRIMACK, NH — Several calls came in to 911 for a two-vehicle crash on the F.E. Everett Turnpike at 12:15 a.m. on Thursday. The accident location was given as Mile Marker 13.6 which is about a mile south of the Bedford Toll Plaza. While units were responding they were advised there were two people trapped in vehicles, and one of the vehicles was on fire. The first Merrimack police officer who arrived at the scene said that he could not access the victim due to the intense fire. Bedford and Merrimack firefighters responded with apparatus and ambulances. It was immediately determined neither driver survived the accident. New Hampshire State Police requested the accident reconstruction team and the medical examiner. At about 2:15 a.m., two hearses were seen leaving the accident scene. The highway remained shut down for several hours as the investigation is underway by New Hampshire State Police. Three people have died on the F.E. Everett Turnpike in Merrimack in less than a week. On Saturday a 17-year-old Nashua boy died in a crash at Exit 10. ©Jeffrey Hastings www.frameofmindphoto.com/news
