Man Shoots Friend, Charged With Manslaughter: Gwinnett Police

GWINNETT COUNTY, GA — A Norcross man has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the shooting death of a friend early Wednesday morning on Holcomb Bridge Road. According to investigators, Jorge Ramirez, 31, is believed to have shot the victim at close range from inside the Ford Explorer they were both riding, with the victim in the front seat and Ramirez in the back. Gwinnett police responded to a call at 3466 Holcomb Bridge Road just after 1:30 a.m., where they found the victim, with a single bullet wound, sitting in the front seat of the SUV. Two other occupants of the SUV told investigators that Ramirez had been in the back seat with a gun before the shooting. Ramirez was taken to the Gwinnett County Jail after speaking with investigators. He was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
