Description

A multicultural event combining Native American, contemporary, electronic and acoustic music, dance, and poetry celebrating Earth Day. We will be alternating and jamming together: William Ruiz, Percussionist (Taino), Native Electric: Emilio Zef China and Kris Pierce with John Scott Richardson (Haliwa-Saponi /Tuscarora lineage) and Patrick Little Wolf Brooks (Tuscarora), as well as Coop Danza's Contemporary dancers: Lorena Jaramillo and Darina Eid Harasic. Live music, spoken word and traditional dancing: Men’s Traditional, War and Eastern War styles, educational demonstration about dance styles, and explanation of the regalia symbolism. We really appreciate the support of Theater For The New City for sponsoring the space and equipment and they will be accepting donations at the theater, on the day of the show, to help offset the cost of hosting the event. Coop Danza does not receive any of these funds, but we are happy to support them in this way.COVID-19 Statement: All crew and performers will have recent negative tests or be vaccinated. Audience members will have their temperature taken by theater staff when entering the venue. Masks and social distancing are encouraged. Thanks for helping us keep this safe for everyone!
