Description
I would like to ask Pacific Grove residents to call for Common Sense from City Hall.
The 'As Proposed' Comstock Hotel project at ATC calls for a two year construction process, seven days a week. Noted by the developer, massive drilling will be conducted to create an underground parking lot. Also, projected are thousands of truckloads, yes thousands, hauling out the granite debris over our roadways. As most know, we already suffer gridlock on Central Ave., Lighthouse and in the tunnel. The added traffic of construction workers and thousands of debris truck hauls, I fear will create a traffic nightmare. Will our safety be endangered if ambulances, fire and police travel is impeded? Will these trucks rip up our roads and cause damage to our cars and tires? Will the drilling and heavy trucks possibly damage underground gas or water lines. Even more serious, could the drilling impact seismic EQ or sinkhole possibilities. I don't know but it's a concern.
Many believe the Hotel project is being fast tracked and not enough transparency honored by the City Council. Part of the project requested by the developer and agreed to at this writing, is to close Sloat Ave between Eardly and Dewey Ave. a thrufare street, forever. The project is too large and at least, it should be downsized to fit the city essence of The Last Home Town in America.
If any of the above concerns you, please make PG City Council aware of your feelings.
Thank you.
