MARLBOROUGH, MA — A 52-year-old Marlborough man has been identified as the victim in Saturday's fatal pedestrian collision in the downtown area.
George Kenney was crossing West Main Street just before 10 p.m. Saturday near the main library when he was hit by a driver in a truck, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney's office.
Kenney was taken to a local hospital for treatment, which is where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the truck stayed at the scene, and the DA's office did not immediately announce any charges in connection to the collision.
The incident was still under investigation as of Tuesday morning, the DA's office said.
Saturday's collision was one of two fatal traffic incidents over the weekend. A 21-year-old woman died Sunday night when she crashed along Route 9 near Route 20, according to Northborough police. A pedestrian was also killed early Tuesday morning in Braintree along Interstate 93.
