NEW PORT RICHEY, FL — Both New Port Richey and Port Richey will host municipal elections Tuesday, giving residents of both cities a chance to vote for city council members. Registered voters in both cities can cast their ballots from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Residents in New Port Richey will have the opportunity to elect two people to serve on the city council. City council members serve three-year terms. The annual salary for city council members is $3,600. Incumbent city council members Matt Murphy and Mike Peters will battle challengers Kate Connolly and Rachel Giuliani-Hagenbaugh to retain their seats. Voting will take place at the New Port Richey Recreation and Aquatic Center, 6630 Van Buren St. Voters must live within the city limits of New Port Richey and must bring proof of residency. In Port Richey, registered voters living in the city limits will elect two council members, choosing from incumbents Thomas E. Kinsella and John T. Maklary, and challenger Seth M. Kapp.
