Description
COLD SPRING HARBOR, NY — One lane on State Route 25A (Harbor Road) will be closed for a week starting Wednesday in the Town of Huntington, the New York State Department of Transportation announced.
The eastbound lane between State Route 108 and Terrace Place is due to be closed between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. on weekdays for roughly a week due to shoulder work.
Flaggers are slated to direct vehicles through an alternating traffic pattern in the work zone, according to the transportation department. Drivers were asked to follow the instructions of the flaggers for their safety and the safety of the highway work crew.
Motorists were urged by the department to plan accordingly and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Two or more convictions for speeding violations in a work zone could lead to one's driver's license being suspended.
