Job Description Well-established since 1943, nursery school in the heart of Rockville, MD, Rockville Nursery School and Kindergarten, is seeking a 5 -day a week, Preschool Lead Teacher. Our play-based program is from 8:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. daily. Applicants are preferred to have a degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, or Family Studies, a love of children, be creative, hardworking, well organized, fun-loving, and have experience working in an approved, licensed childcare/school setting. Additional working hours from 1 pm to 6 pm available upon request. Salary will be based on experience and level of education.  Lead Teacher's Daily Requirements: Develop lesson plans and observable benchmarks based on program goals and objectives. Communicating appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff.• Participation in staff and training meetings.Designing an appropriate room arrangement to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom.Execute COVID protocols and procedures.Interacting with the children to support play, exploration, and learning. Presenting expectations that are appropriate to the child's age and developmental level.Planning and implementing activities that develop self-esteem, social skills, and equality.Building teamwork.Using assessment tools.Committing to continuing education. Required Education: Bachelor's degree; preferred in Education Field (Early Childhood, Elementary Education, or Family Studies) Required Experience: Lesson planning.Working with a team.Classroom management skills.Computer & technology skills.
