Press release from the City of Waukee: April 12, 2021 April 22 is Earth Day! This year's theme is "Restore Our Earth™". Help restore your neighborhood after a windy winter by picking up trash. Free garbage bags can be picked up at City Hall (230 W. Hickman Road) April 19-23 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Grab a friend, or take the kids around your block to help clean up litter and debris that may have blown around your area in recent months. Wear gloves or use a pick-up stick if concerned about germs/chemicals. City employees will also take to the streets with their own "Trash Bash" on Friday, April 23.
