Large New Haven Company Relocates To East Haven Industrial Park

EAST HAVEN, CT — A New Haven company that does $15 million a year in business with 50 employees is moving to East Haven's Industrial Park after signing what town officials said is a long-term lease. Mayor Joseph A. Carfora and Economic Development director Raymond G. Baldwin Jr. announced Tuesday that Timken Power Systems, will be "investing substantially" in renovations and improvements to the 41,000 square foot light industrial space building at 110 Commerce St. The site is owned by Thomas Hennessey. The company plans to begin operations at its new East Haven location in May. "We are working hard to create relationships like this," Carfora said. "Ray, Timken Power Systems, and Tom Hennessey deserve a great deal of credit. This was truly a coordinated, and professional effort to bring an established and reputable company to our community." Timken project manager Richard Chrzanowski said he and his company are "excited to be moving to East Haven," with a nod of thanks to the town's building, zoning and engineering departments and Baldwin "for their support in making their relocation seamless," a statement reads. Baldwin noted that neighboring business Total Fab "will be providing much of the steel girders needed for the outfitting of the building so it's a real win-win for the town of East Haven and the East Haven business community."
