Glass House Farms is looking for the following: JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Chemical Applicator is responsible for properly mixing and applying the pesticides in the needed amounts. Maintain accurate records of products and quantities used as directed by Manager and responsible for checking filters and drainage. JOB DUTIES • Mixing chemicals and water in sprayer tanks and applying the pesticides in the needed amount • Responsible for manipulating nozzles, tubes or hoses during spray application and cleaning • Servicing equipment to ensure operating efficiency • Use PPE per OSHA regulations • Perform other duties as assigned SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS • Must be 21+ years old • Flexible availability for work hours • Must be able to maintain a positive attitude • Must be able to read and understand chemical labels • Experience in the agricultural application of chemicals including the operation and maintenance of sprayers, floaters and other chemical application equipment is preferred • Able to operate a forklift OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES • Able to work independently and in a team environment • This position requires a 40-hour minimum work week • Willingness to work weekends MENTAL/ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Ability to work in conditions typically found in a greenhouse with high humidity and varying temperatures, with a fair amount of moisture present • Ability to exert up to 15-50 pounds occasionally in order to lift and move product • Ability to balance, reach grasp while climbing on a step stool and/ or ladder • Ability to crouch, grasp and lift product above shoulders in order to lift product from the floor properly • Ability to use required tools to perform job duties • Ability to sit/stand for long periods of time as job duties require EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE • At least 1-2 years’ experience in a greenhouse environment • At least 1-year experience in spraying • Basic knowledge of chemicals used in agriculture environment
