JOHNSTON, RI — The state-run regional vaccination clinic in Johnston added new COVID-19 vaccination appointments Tuesday morning, said the Rhode Island Department of Health in a news release Monday. The site, located at the Johnston Recreation Center at 1741 Atwood Avenue, is one of eight locations that added new appointments Tuesday, including the Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, Sockanosset Cross Road in Cranston, Diamond Hill Road in Woonsocket, Schneider Electric in South County and at regional sites in Westerly and East Providence. "It is my top priority to get as many Rhode Islanders vaccinated as quickly and equitably as possible," said Governor Dan McKee in a statement. A total of 7,600 new appointments were posted on the state portal Tuesday at approximately 9 a.m. Those who are eligible to get vaccinated are currently those over the age of 40 and everyone age 16 and older in the hardest hit communities.
