Description
COVENTRY, RI — Coventry voters have until Tuesday to request a mail ballot for the May 4 special election. The election will fill vacant District 4 seat on the Town Council.
Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea reminded voters who have not requested their mail ballots yet to drop off their applications, rather than mail them.
"If you want to vote from home but haven't submitted your mail ballot application yet, please drop off your application instead of mailing it to make sure it arrives on time," Gorbea said.
Applications can be dropped off at the voter's local board of canvassers, in a secure election drop box, at the drop box at the Rhode Island Board of Elections at 2000 Plainfield Pike in Cranston or the drop box at the Secretary of State's Office at 148 West River St. in Providence.
Voters who miss the mail ballot deadline will still have two options to vote: early, in-person from April 14 to 4 p.m. on May 3, or in person at their polling place on Election Day. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
