CONCORD, NH — Two fires along the railroad tracks on Storrs Street in Concord appear to have been intentionally set, according to the Concord Fire Department. Concord fire and rescue teams were sent to the tracks — which are currently in the process of being cleared of homeless camps, where piles of trash and debris were on fire around 6 a.m. Witnesses reported seeing "heavy smoke" along the tracks. When they arrived, firefighters found two separate areas of trash and debris were burning. "Additional Concord Fire units were requested to the scene to help extinguish the fires," Sean Brown, the city's fire chief, said. "The fires appeared to be intentionally set." About 45 minutes later, firefighters were sent to the Harris Hill Center on Maitland Street for a report of an appliance fire. When they arrived at that fire, companies found smoke on the first floor of the facility and fire in an oven. A kitchen suppression system extinguished the fire, according to Brown. Firefighters stayed on for about an hour to ventilate the building. Got a news tip? Send it to [email protected]. View videos on Tony Schinella's YouTube.com channel or Rumble.com channel.
