Governor Tim Walz has ordered a nighttime curfew in Hennepin, Anoka, and Ramsey counties beginning Mon, April 12, 7 pm and continuing until Tue, April 13, 6 am. During this time, all persons must not travel on any public streets.
All law enforcement, fire, medical personnel, and members of the news media, as well as other authorized personnel are exempt from the curfew. Individuals traveling directly to and from work, seeking emergency care, fleeing dangerous circumstances, or experiencing homelessness are also exempt.
The Golden Valley Police Department (GVPD) has extra officers on duty tonight and is ready to respond to situations as they may unfold. The GVPD is monitoring the situation carefully and is working with neighboring cities for additional assistance if needed.
