Join Climate Smart, Parks & Rec of Gardiner NY and the DEC to help plant 300 trees and shrubs along the Wallkill River. Help plant 300 trees and shrubs along the Wallkill River in Gardiner, NY. Saturday May 8th at 9:00 am Rain date May 23rd No prior experience required. The DEC will be providing training of proper planting. The project was made possible by a grant from New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Hudson River Estuary Program Trees for Tribs. Meeting at: Town of Gardiner Transfer Station 131 Steves Lane Gardiner, NY 12525 *Please note there is a 15 minute hike to the planting site. Appropriate outdoor attire required. --- COVID-19 precautions: Pre-registration is required to participate. All participants must bring their own masks, gloves, hand sanitizer, and reusable water bottles. All volunteers must maintain a minimum distance of 6 feet and wear masks that fully cover nose and mouth at all times – no exceptions.
