MOUNT PROSPECT, IL — A big reason the Prospect High School varsity football team is off to a perfect start to the season is Alex "Gary" Moeller. The senior quarterback/cornerback was named the Chicago Bears "High School All-Star." The Bears will direct a $500 donation to the youth football program of Moeller's choice. Moeller ran for a touchdown, threw for four more and ran back an interception with under four minutes remaining in the game to help Prospect (3-0) beat Hersey (2-1) 49-29 last Friday. The win marked their first over the Huskies since 2012. Moeller initially started his high school career as a cornerback before transitioning into the quarterback position in 2019. Prospect, who is now ranked No. 10 on the AP's Class 7A list, will play at Rolling Meadows (1-2) on Friday.
