Description
CLEVELAND — Walgreens is expanding its COVID-19 testing capacity nationwide, including at stores in Northeast Ohio.
By May 1, 1,000 additional Walgreens pharmacies will begin offering COVID-19 diagnostic tests. Nationally, that will bring the total number of Walgreens locations offering diagnostic testing to 6,000.
In Northeast Ohio, 67 Walgreens locations will offer drive-thru COVID-19 diagnostic tests. The tests are available for free, though customers may want to schedule an appointment through the Walgreen's website.
Walgreens started COVID-19 testing in April 2020. Since that time, more than 6 million tests have been administered through the pharmacy chain. As the company further expands its testing capabilities, Walgreens will soon be able to perform 3 million COVID-19 tests per month.
"Thousands of Walgreens testing locations also offer rapid diagnostic tests where results are received the same day," the company said in a statement.
