Description

The team at HydroFlower is proud to announce the signing of its host city agreement with the town on Montague, Massachusetts, specifically in the village of Turner Falls, to open a cannabis cultivation facility situated inside the old Southworth Paper Mill, which sits along the banks of the Turner Falls Canal and Connecticut River. The old Southworth Paper Mill is a 150,000 square foot facility whose layout and infrastructure is ideal for cannabis cultivation and production. HydroFlower will also draw energy from its fully-functioning on-site hydro dam to power the facility, resulting in heavily-reduced electrical bills and the opportunity to provide cannabis at fair market value to both medical and recreational dispensaries across Massachusetts. HydroFlower’s launch was made possible by the team at East Coast (EC) Cannabis, headquartered in Elliot, Maine. In just four short years, CEO Ryan Ward led an experienced team across various disciplines to become one of the most reputable, reliable and premier cannabis cultivation facilities in Maine, and plans to mirror the same goals and objectives, and establish a similar reputation, at their Massachusetts headquarters in Turner Falls. “It was imperative we found the perfect location where its infrastructure had an environmentally-sound foundation, which delayed our expansion into Massachusetts a little longer than expected.” said Ryan Ward, CEO and Co-Founder at HydroFlower and East Coast Cannabis. “Our patience paid off. We found a welcoming and supportive community in Turner Falls, and we found the facility of our dreams, checking every box that aligns with our company ethos of balancing equity, profit and community care to help address the cannabis deficiency in Massachusetts.” The HydroFlower team is committed to diversity, and have plans in the works to team with social equity partners from underserved communities to create a robust network of consumer products. HydroFlower will also allocate some of its own production space to one, or multiple, social equity partners that share the same mantra as HydroFlower and complement or support their product offerings.” “We understand the cannabis community in Massachusetts is a close-knit one,” added Ward. “We are going to forge strong relationships with our partners, quickly make an impact within the Massachusetts Social Equity Program and speed up construction so we can become an integral part of this community to help quell the shortage of high-grade cannabis at fair market prices so retailers can pass those savings onto their loyal consumers.” The HydroFlower team consists of several key members from East Coast Cannabis. Ryan Ward will be joined by Dana Brearley who will manage sales, business development and marketing. Brearley also has five years of cultivation experience. James Folan III is an expert in THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) extraction and purification, and will oversee all production. Other members will be announced in the near future. HydroFlower is in the process of establishing its website and social media channels.
