TROUP COUNTY, GA — Overturned trucks have created quite a few messes over the years. From syrup to corn — and, in one instance, slime eels — highway crews have had their work cut out for them when the large vehicles containing a mass amount of certain products get involved in a crash. This time, it's beer. A lot of it. A crash on Interstate 85 in Troup County, Georgia, on Sunday involved four vehicles, including a tractor-trailer that overturned while carrying 40,000 pounds of Bud Light beer, according to a report from WSBT. The television report shows aerial footage of the wreck reported around 4:30 p.m. (just in time for the 5 p.m. happy hour) near La Grange, with the recognizable, blue Bud Light cases spilled onto the highway's median in the northbound lanes just before Exit 18. One person was injured and hospitalized due to the crash, which involved a pickup truck, another tractor-trailer and a passenger car, Georgia State Patrol officers told the news station. Crews were working to clean up the big beer mess well into the evening as the highway remained closed for hours, WXIA reported.
