Description
There is a scam where if you inquire about an ad the seller or buyer will ask if you can send your number so you can talk about the details more over text. They will require a code to prove you aren't spam and you'll get a Google Voice code sent to you from Google Voice. It's a way for them to use your number and call others appearing like its you. Typically it's for illegal purposes.
The message will be in another language to hide what it actually says:
"000000 your Google Voice verification code. Do not share it with others."
I've included some pictures of the message I got and the reasoning the scammer gave me. Luckily my scam instincts where on high alert when I was clearly not a bot and they shouldn't be asking for any further verification.
