I've posted ads down there so far looking for 1) an apartment 2) looking for work by posting on the resume section I've been rewarded on both with a great condo and multiple, solid job offers for the day after i get there.. so... I've been reading the ads under musicians and responding to some but think I'll throw my hat out there as well and see what this might bring. I grew up in a musical family. Playing around on the piano from as early as i can remember to starting drums at 12 when i got an acoustic set my dad hated. Played tuba in a Texas high school and made state back in the day. Had a full music scholarship to east Texas state university in commerce tx when i found out my girlfriend was pregnant so i put all that aside and went into construction to raise a family. I still played whatever i could wherever needed.. garage bands, and when i was in the Navy in the 80s, i played guitar with 1 band and bass in another where we played everything from ozzy to Zeppelin, rush and comfortably numb by pink floyd while it was still on the current billboard charts. We played at venues across the Mediterranean where we had port of calls, we'd do a concert... 4 bands, a RnB, country, top 40 rock and heavy rock.. played guitar in the heavy one and bass in the top 40 one.. 1 hour sets.. wicked fun.. After i got out and back in Texas, i started doing the church thing and when we moved to Missouri, i played in a couple churches, drums in 1 and guitar the other or combinations as needed where we did gospel fests, fund raisers, state conventions. Very good musicians we sounded like the CDs we'd practice by...That was fun too. just not the wicked kind.. lol 😆 I moved to Seattle in 08 and since have played here and there at open mic nights in pubs and bars bringing my sticks for the drums set up and my guitar and bass but that was back when you could actually go someplace and have a drink and shoot some pool.. throw darts.. those days are gone here and have been for well over a year and not sure it's ever coming back in Washington state... I'm tired of the cold rain and the lockdowns here so I'm coming to sunny Pheonix. I grew up in Texas so used to the heat.. I'm looking for whatever this ad might bring.. i play drums, bass, guitar, keys, can sing (E and A) is my wheelhouse on lead but do harmony too. I'm a composer that writes songs so if you're looking for originals i have around 40 im working on. Wanted to post a link to my YouTube channel and tried several ways but got removed for it... don't understand why so if you're interested search for "careful with that axe Eugene drum cover by Chris val" that should bring it up. My channel shows me playing lots of songs on different instruments. 29 is one of my originals I'm working on. I'm definitely not perfect by far and as you'll see i miss stuff here and there playing around but if it was serious and needed to be nailed down i will. Thanks for reading and hope to hear from you Chris
