Starting Folk Band

Hi there! I'm looking to start a folk band with other interested musicians. Practicing can take place at my residence with eventual goals to: - write and record original music - enter music for NM Music Awards - perform at whatever festivals can be found - perform at indoor venues when COVID restrictions allow ***Recording experience and owning of equipment a super plus!! (I, unfortunately, don't own any at the moment.) If anyone has stellar recording capabilities and would rather hold practices at your residence, it might work better down the line, and I'd be open to that. Instrumentation: I play flute (many genres) and love improv the most and have played in folk bands in the past, usually taking over the "fiddle" role in folk, collaborating with the following: - vocals (male and female) - guitar (acoustic preferred)/banjo/bass (upright preferred) - piano/keyboard - unique instruments that could add to this setting Open to diverse styles within the folk genre, playing both traditional folk tunes (Shady Grove, Danny Boy, Cuckoo's Nest, etc, for example) and original songs. *Please only serious inquiries from serious musicians only. I have a masters in flute performance and am looking to both have fun and do serious work. Both trained and "untrained" musicians welcome, as talent is recognized in both. Will want to hear how you play, get together to "jam" to see who is a good fit. **I have recently been vaccinated, and whether you are or not, you assume all risks of the social gathering of making music together IN PERSON upon yourself.
