Position Description: Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair roll-formed/extruded aluminum products, such as pergolas, patio covers, arbors, railings, seamless gutters, and gutter guards. Work may involve any of the following: setting up and operating machines/tools to cut, fasten, and install roll-formed/extruded aluminum parts and pieces. Tasks: -Construct components for high-quality extruded aluminum pergolas. -Shop drawings to be followed in the construction or assembly of extruded aluminum parts. -Installation of roll-formed aluminum products like seamless gutters and gutter guards. -Ability to handle job appropriate ladders and climb. -Creativity and Problem Solving Details: Hours/Location of employment: Work will be at locations anywhere from Northwest Ohio to Central Ohio to West Central Ohio. Occasional overnight travel is required – on average 15-20 days per year. Work is seasonal, with nine months of the year generally working 8-10 hours per day with start and stop times variable. Work is still available during the winter months but scaled back to 40 hours a week or less. At times, a temporary layoff is necessary. Work week consists typically of Monday-Friday with an occasional Saturday. Transportation: Employees are required to arrange their own transportation to/from the employer’s shop and sometimes the job site. A driver's license is highly recommended for the employee will be asked to drive employers trucks/equipment to/from job sites. Physical Condition: The employee is to be in reasonable physical condition to perform strenuous activities that the job demands. Extended periods of time of walking, climbing, kneeling, moving step ladders, and extension ladders up to 40ft. long, lifting 24’ aluminum beams (similar to 40’ extension ladder in weight). The employee will need to withstand outside weather within reason and have appropriate clothing for cold and heat. The employee cannot be prone to seizures, dizziness, or poor balance. The employee must be able to speak English, have average eyesight and hearing. Tasks: Cutting extruded/roll-formed aluminum with saws and hand snips – Fastening extruded/roll-formed aluminum with commercial fastening tools – Caulking seams– Hauling product from truck/trailer to location of project - Cleaning up job site/shop Insurance: Workmen’s Compensation is covered by the employer on all employee’s. Health insurance is available following a 90-day probationary period. Retirement: A 401K with a personal advisor is available after a 360-day probationary period. Starting Pay: $15.00 to $16.00 per hour based on references, experience, and evaluation. Separation Notice: Employee is required to give a 2-week notice prior to leaving the job. Job Type: Full-time
